Rockefeller Center

Finally after all this time we did our second MUNY location. This time at Rockefeller Center along the B,D and F lines.

The acoustics were great but there was hardly any foot traffic. It seems that a few of us were also feeling the need to just be really really slow and for the first set everything was just nice and slow slow slow. A dream. Very few people came but about eighty percent of the folks that did atop purchased both cd’s.

We tried to a better area but the acoustics weren’t as good and we were having less fun so we made even less. All in all not a terrific session but some good music came out of it. Sometimes when there aren’t big crowds in front of us (thankfully, this is rare!!) we can explore and try different ways of doing things. Often the cry, “Let’s do it slow and in minor” is heard. Today was one of those days and the victim du jour was one of our faster tunes “San” It actually worked pretty well. Boredom is the mother of invention.

I dropped my horn of at Sam Ash for some basic repairs and maintenance. I met Josh who seemd reasonable enough. He even gave me a loaner horn for tonight’s Moto gig. Its almost the same was I have now with a custom lead pipe that he makes special. It has an interesting feel. See you tonight?
